What happens to your parts
Each item is degreased and given a phosphate wash, then rinsed twice and dried before any powder goes near it. That preparation does a surprising amount of the work, as a coating can only grip as well as the surface allows. Powder is then applied electrostatically and the part moves into the curing oven, where heat turns it into a hard, even film.
